Eric,

Something's happened the last couple of times I've come to the site that I don't understand.  After I log on, I naturally go down the screen to see which of the New Post bubbles is highlighted, and then I go to the thread noted at the right.  Then when I've finished reading or commenting, I hit "Home" and look for the next one that's new to me.

But I have discovered that even when there are multiple threads in one subject area that's highlighted and I've looked at only one of them, the bubble is no longer highlighted.  It's only when I check at the bottom to see the list of recent posts and to see who's online that I see that I've missed something.

Is the bubble highlighting supposed to go away when there are still threads I haven't yet read within that subject?  If so, then I'll use another way to go to what is new (such as the unread posts list), but I've liked seeing the entire list and refreshing my memory about what's been written in the subjects.

Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks for a great site.

Sorry it's taken so long to get back... lots of family stuff going on (I'll do a longer post in the next few days).

Yes, the new post bubble does go away when navigating away from a category/board even if there are still unread posts. Not sure why that is, it's just a standard thing on SMF.

Two areas to look at for new posts: The "Show unread posts since last visit." link under your user greeting at the top of the screen. Or the "Latest Posts" list at the bottom of the main page.

Thanks.  I mostly wanted an explanation about the bubble thing.
